COVID-19 IS NOT MALARIA - NCDC
The Coronavirus disease is not a severe form of malaria, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
However, the NCDC said the novel virus has similar symptoms to malaria, and enjoined Nigerians to observe all preventive measures and protocols to curtail the spread of the virus.
The NCDC tweeted; "Though COVID-19 presents symptoms similar to malaria, for example fever, the diseases are caused by different organisms and differ in mode of transmission. COVID-19 is not malaria.”
Nigeria's COVID-19 cases rose to 15181 as 621 more infections was confirmed by the agency yesterday.
Of the 621 infections, 229 was discovered in Lagos, 65 in the FCT, and 54 in Abia.
4891 discharges have been made and 399 deaths have been recorded.
