PRESIDENT BUHARI RECEIVES MADAGASCAR'S CORONAVIRUS HERBAL CURE
President Muhammadu Buhari, today, received the delivery of Nigeria's portion of the Madagascar coronavirus antidote.
Bashir Ahmad, President Buhari's Media Aide made this announcement on his Twitter Handle.
Ahmad Tweeted; "President Buhari has received the Madagascan native formulation against the COVID-19 pandemic."
The president further reiterated that he will listen to science before allowing traditional or any new medicines to be administered on Nigerians.
In a statement released on his official Twitter handle, President Buhari said:
"My position regarding all herbal or traditional medicines is that any such formulations should be sent to the statutory regulators for thorough scientific verification. We will not put anything to use in Nigeria without the endorsement of our regulatory institutions."

Nigeria's health minister Osagie Ehanire had emphasized that the Madagascar cure would be tested by relevant agencies "to make sure they are safe and they work," before they can be used in Nigeria.
Madagascar's President, Andry Rajoelina, had on April 20, endorsed the use of Covid Organics-a traditional herbal remedy developed by the Malagasy Institute of Applied Research IMRA.

The herbal mixture is a blend of Artemisia and endemic plants.
"There are two treatment protocols (curative and preventive). The state of health of Covid-19 patients who took Tambavy CVO CovidOrganics improved after seven days and fully recovered after ten days," President Rajoelina said.
