#ENDSARS: MAN ASKS LAGOS STATE PANEL TO INVESTIGATE FALSE CLAIMS BY NIGERIANS ON SOCIAL MEDIA
A man identified as Gbolahan Bakare, has submitted a petition to the Lagos State Judicial panel of Enquiry to investigate false claims made by Nigerians on social media during the #ENDSARS protests.
He submitted this petition on Friday, October 30, at the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Enquiry sitting.
Bakare, who is a member of the Vendors for Positive Change Initiative, asked the panel to invite those who posted fake news on social media, to come and ascertain their claims.
He said; “We have seen that fake and unverified news have done us more harm than good which is responsible for the destruction in the last few days.
“It is necessary for us to call the attention of the panel to invite those who claimed and posted on social media to come and ascertain their claims.”
When asked if the Government has made any false claims on social media and if it is part of the petition, he said “yes, the Government inclusive.”
