SECURITY ALERT: ROBBERS DISPOSSESSED ROAD USERS OF THEIR POSSESSIONS ALONG OSHODI ROAD

Report had it that Abass Bashiru (27), Hakeem Jimoh (23) and Mustapha Balogun (25) were arrested last night at Toyota Bus Stop, around Ladopi area of Oshodi for attacking and dispossessing a road user and his friend of their money and two phones, Samsung A70 and Samsung 7S+. The valuation of the two phones are said to be in the region of #514,000.


The victim's vehicle, a Mercedes Benz broke down around the Toyota bus stop at around 10pm, and trio in company of 8 others took advantage of the situation and attacked and dispossessed the owners of the vehicle of #3000 and #7000 separately before stealing their phones under the guise of "money for the boys"


Members of the police force were invited to the scenes and they began to track and follow the boys into the streets. By this time it was already too late and the owner of the vehicle was allowed to go home with his vehicle towed by another vehicle.


The young man was arrested around 1am and the two stolen phones were retrieved.


The owner was invited to pick up the two phones and he identified the three Major robbers in the attack at the Headquarters in Alausa.

 

One of the robbers, Abass Bashiru confessed that he stole the phone and handed it over to Mustapha Balogun to keep for him. He also disclosed that only #300 was given to him from the #10000 collected from the owners of the vehicle whilst the two other suspects collected #200.
