NPF PARTNERS WITH GERMAN FIRM, RE-TRAINS OFFICERS ON PUBLIC RELATIONS
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has kicked off the second batch of a three day capacity building workshop for Police Public Relations Officers (PROs), organized in collaboration with a German company, (GIZ Nigeria).
The training, themed: "Crime Scene Management and Conclusive Criminal Investigation. The Role of Police Spokespersons", is currently ongoing at the Digital Forensic Laboratory, Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, Kano State.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, was represented by the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 1, Kano, AIG Sadiq Abubakar Bello, declared the training open yesterday.
In his address, the IGP stated the Nigeria Police decided to commit scarce resources to this important training to consolidate the Force's position as an institution capable of producing qualitative manpower especially at the ASP and Inspectorate cadre, in order to meet up with the middle level manpower requirements of the Nigeria Police Force, as stated in the vision and mission of the POLAC.
He said the training is designed to equip trainees with hands-on competences backed by a sound academic and professional background. These, he said are the requirements of law enforcement agents and Police men in a socially complex and technologically sophisticated world.
