MIYETTI ALLAH SUPPORTS END TO NIGHT GRAZING IN NIGERIA, SUES FOR PEACE

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, (MACBAN) has attributed night grazing as one of the major causes of conflicts between farmers and herders, adding that it supports that the practise must stop all over the country.

The National Secretary of the Association Baba Uthman who represented Muhammadu Kirowa, the MACBAN president, disclosed this on Monday during a meeting with Governors in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

Recall that community members in Ibarapa local government in Oyo State who fingered Fulani herdsmen as responsible for the kidnappings and other criminal activities in their area, evicted the herders over the weekend

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu also made similar accusations against the Fulanis in his territory and ordered the herders to vacate Ondo State Forest Reserves in 7 days which expired on Sunday.

In a meeting attended by Governors of Ondo, Osun, Ekiti, Oyo, Jigawa, and Kebbi states, Baba Uthman said the poor management of the relationship between herders and farmers is responsible for the recent crisis.
