BOKO HARAM INSURGENTS ATTACK TROOPS IN KUKAWA, KILL 7 SOLDIERS
Seven soldiers lost their lives on Tuesday when Boko Haram insurgents attacked an army location in Kukawa town, Borno.
The insurgents attacked barely a week after residents returned to their homes after spending nearly two years in IDP camp.
The Boko Haram terrorists dressed in military camo and red berets ambushed troops at about 4 pm on Tuesday, August 18.

Sources say the terrorists seized four gun trucks belonging to the military and an ambulance.
The Defence Headquarters in a statement released on Thursday said soldiers killed 8 Boko Haram terrorists during the battle, adding that there is no going back in its struggle to see to the rebuilding and resettlement efforts for the residents who fled their homes about two years ago to escape the violence from the Boko Haram Insurgents.

“The people of Kukawa are therefore advised to go about their normal lawful businesses without any hindrance. They are also enjoined to always avail the troops and other security agencies with credible information about the terrorists and any suspicious persons accordingly,” Major General John Enenche, the Coordinator Defence Media Operations said.
