"TURN TO FACTS" CHINA HITS BACK AT US ON THE ORIGIN OF COVID-19

China has hit back at the US over accusations on the origin of Coronavirus.

The US President Donald Trump had earlier claimed that he had seen evidence linking the Coronavirus to a lab in the Chinese city of Wuhan.

China criticised the United States on Thursday, May 6, for "disharmonious, untruthful and insincere remarks", after the United States President, Donald Trump had a word war again with Beijing's Coronavirus outbreak.

"We urge the US side to stop shifting the blame to China and turn to facts ", said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying at a press briefing, after Trump accused China of not curbing the spread of Coronavirus in China so it would not have affected the world.

The United States President, Donald Trump, has been in a war of words with China over the origin of COVID-19. Although the disease emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan, it has grown into a global pandemic.

Earlier, a Chinese state media published an animated video purported to mock Donald Trump's response to Coronavirus pandemic.

Donald Trump said his administration was trying to unravel the source of Coronavirus. He said he was confident that the Coronavirus was synthesised in a Chinese laboratory in the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Last month, US President Donald Trump accused both China and the World Health Organization (WHO) of a COVID-19 cover-up, saying "the world received all sorts of false information about transmission and mortality".

The US, under the directive of Donald Trump, has ceased funding to the World Health Organisation because it has "failed in its basic duty" in its response to the coronavirus outbreak.
