11 DEAD AS NIGERIA ARMY FOIL HOODLUM ATTACK ON MILITARY CHECKPOINT IN ABA, ABIA STATE

At least 11 hoodlums suspected to be members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) were killed on Tuesday night during a fierce gun battle with the Nigeria Army in Aba, Abia State.


Eons Intelligence gathered that hoodlums armed hoodlums numbering about 50 invaded the Araria junction in Enugu- Port Harcourt Expressway, ostensibly to attack the soldiers manning the area at about 8.30 pm. 


Fortunately, the gallant soldiers had received credible intel on the impending attack and were battle-ready. 


Sources say immediately the hoodlums arrived and opened fire on the military, the gallant soldiers responded with superior firepower, leaving 11 criminals dead.

The incident occurred less than 24 hours after hoodlums killed three police officers attached to the Abia State Police Command in Abiriba, Ohafia LGA of Abia State.

The deceased police officers: Inspector Austin Ugwu, Inspector Longinus Ugochukwu, and PC Ama Ifeanyi were ambushed on Monday morning and their assailants carted away their rifles. 

Security operatives including police stations have been targeted by hoodlums in the Southern parts of the country prompting security experts to raise alarm on the possibility of criminals stocking up arms. 

On Saturday, March 21, gunmen set the Isiala Mbano Police Divisional Headquarters in Umuelemai, Imo State, ablaze, freed suspects held in the detention facility, and carted away ammunition.

Obowo, Aboh Mbaise, and Ihitte/Uboma police divisions had been previously attacked before the Saturday incident.

From January till date, over 20 police officers have been targeted and killed by hoodlums in the Southern part of the country.

During the same timeline, 6 police stations have been attacked and police patrol teams have been ambushed by criminals 7 times, according to Eons Intelligence reports.
