AIG Odumosu's Wife Rescued as Police Gun Down Kidnappers, Recover Ransom

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have successfully neutralized the kidnappers of Alhaja Sikirat Odumosu, wife of former Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu, in Arepo, Ogun State.


The police operation, carried out in Ogun State, also led to the recovery of the ransom money that had been demanded for her release.


The development was disclosed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, via his official X handle on Thursday.


Adejobi stated that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) commended the efforts of the operatives involved in the rescue operation, as well as the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, for their dedication and professionalism.


“The IGP has commended the police operatives and CP Ogun State, Lanre Ogunlowo, for a job well done. We remain committed to safeguarding Nigerian citizens and ensuring national security,” Adejobi stated.


Eons Intelligence had earlier reported that Alhaja Sikirat Odumosu was abducted on the evening of January 16, 2025, at her residence in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.


The kidnappers, armed and aggressive, had demanded a ransom of N100 million for her release.
