ATTEMPT TO SET INEC OFFICE IN ENUGU ABLAZE: COMMISSIONER OF POLICE DEPLOYS SECURITY OPERATIVES TO THE AREA TO ARREST THE PERPETRATORS, ORDERS INVESTIGATION INTO THE INCIDENT

Following an attempt by hoodlums to set the INEC head office in Enugu state ablaze, the State's Commissioner of police, CP Mohammed Ndatsu Aliyu, has ordered an investigation into the incident.


Recall, on Sunday May 16, around 8.30am, hoodlums attempted to set the Enugu Headquarters of the Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC) ablaze, but were resisted by a combined security operatives, who were deployed to the scene.


The State Fire Service personnel, who promptly responded to distress calls, put out the fire which had already razed four vehicles and two cushions within the premises.


This development prompted the State's Commissioner of police to deploy adequate security operatives to the area, and has ordered that all the perpetrators involved in the act must be arrested and brought to justice.
