BANDITS UNLEASH TERROR IN ZAMFARA STATE, KILL TRAVELLERS, ABDUCT DOZENS

Gunmen suspected to be bandits launched a deadly attack on Monday along the Tsafe-Funtua road in Zamfara State, killing multiple travellers and abducting others. The incident occurred around 6 pm near Kucheri village in Tsafe Local Government Area, where bandits ambushed vehicles, opening fire and forcing some to halt.


In a related incident, bandits kidnapped dozens of villagers, including women and children, in Bukkuyum Local Government Area. Attackers targeted farmers returning from fields and motorcyclists along the highway, abducting 36 people.


Later that day, bandits stormed Maidumma village after Juma’at prayer session, abducting 33 men and women, including mosque officials. Local security forces attempted to repel attackers but were unable to rescue victims as gunmen fled into surrounding forests.


The incidents highlight the escalating insecurity in Zamfara State, sparking concerns among residents and calls for increased security measures.
