CROSS RIVER POLICE COMMISSIONER ORDERS IMMEDIATE ARREST OF 14 PERSONS INVOLVED IN GRUESOME MURDER OF MARTINA OKEY
The Cross River Police Commissioner had ordered the immediate arrest of 14 persons and others reportedly involved in the burning of Madam Martina Okey Itagbor of Old Netim in Akamkpa LGA.
The hapless mother of four, gruesomely murdered a few days ago, was accused of witchcraft by the persons led by one Christopher Sunday and Festus Etim Umoh.
The information available indicates that the woman was beaten mercilessly, and stripped before she was set ablaze by rampaging youths who accused her of engaging in witchcraft activities and had been responsible for many death in the community.
The woman reportedly wailed and begged for help but none was forthcoming as those willing were afraid of also being attacked by the youths.
