GOVERNOR AKEREDOLU ORDERS INVESTIGATION ON ALLEGATION OF ABUSE OF POWER AND ILLEGAL DETENTION AGAINST ONDO CHIEF JUDGE

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has ordered the investigation into the allegation of abuse of power and illegal detention levied against the Ondo State Chief Judge, Olanrewaju Olutoyin Akeredolu, nee Fagboyegun.


Recall Eons Intelligence reported that Justice Akeredolu’s brother alleged that the Ondo state judiciary and courts were being used by the chief judge to persecute and remand him for over 3 years, leaving him stranded in Nigeria and unable to return to his family abroad.

Responding to the accusation, Governor Akeredolu said he has directed Sir Charles Titiloye, the Attorney General of Ondo State to probe the matter, promising that the investigation would be thorough and transparent.  


“I have instructed my AG to investigate the allegation. We will ensure the investigation is thorough, fair and transparent,” Governor Akeredolu said.

In a statement released by the Ondo State Ministry of Justice, Sir Charles Titiloye has directed the Department of Public Prosecution in the Ministry of Justice to investigate the allegations and report back to him within 24 hours.
