GUNMEN ABDUCTS STUDENT OF UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN IN OYO STATE
Gunmen have abducted a student of the University of Ibadan.
The victim, Odetunde Emmanuel, a student in the sociology department of UI was abducted around 5 pm on Monday, February 23, while working at his father’s farm in Oke Odan, Apete Area of Ibadan in Oyo state.
Family sources told journalists that Emmanuel was abducted by four suspected herders armed with guns.
Odetunde Samuel, the brother of the victim said the kidnappers have reached out to the family and are demanding 100 million as a ransom for his release.

Olugbenga Fadeyi, the Oyo State Police spokesperson confirmed the incident to journalists said the police “is working alongside other security operatives to ensure that the victim returns safely from the den of his abductors”.

Similarly, criminals suspected to be herdsmen on Saturday, February 21 abducted two fufu traders on the Ayetoro-Olorunda road in Imala, Abeokuta-North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Report says the abductors are demanding N5 million each for the release of the traders.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, The Police Public Relations Officer in the state who confirmed the incident said the police have arrested one of the kidnappers who is of Fulani origin.
