POLICE PARADES THREE SUSPECTS RESPONSIBLE FOR ABDUCTING OWERRI CATHOLIC BISHOP IN DECEMBER
The Imo State Police Command has arrested and paraded three persons for allegedly abducting the Bishop of Owerri Catholic Archdiocese, Most Reverend Moses Chikwe.
On December 27, Eons Intelligence reported that gunmen abducted Bishop Chikwe alongside his driver, at the World Bank area of Owerri, the Imo State capital.
The Imo State Police PRO, Orlando Ikeokwu, who paraded the suspects at the police headquarters in Owerri said that the suspects hail from Awara in Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area of the state.
He stated that the suspects were nabbed following an investigation by the anti-kidnapping team and the quick intervention unit of the State police command.
The Police PRO revealed the suspects had demanded a 10million naira ransom from the church but were forced to release the Bishop four days after his abduction following intense pressure from security agents.
