GUNMEN KILL 3 POLICE OFFICERS IN EDO STATE
No fewer than 3 police officers were killed during an attack between security operatives and gunmen at about 0530hrs on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Agor Market, along the Igarra-Auchi Road, in Edo State.
The information available indicates that the officers who were in a car and another colleague on a motorbike were ambushed by the armed men on their way to their duty post.
Amid the attack, the officer riding a motorbike behind false stalls the strength of the assailants before they fled into the bush with four rifles belonging to the policemen they murdered.
Consequently, the vigilante group swiftly trailed the gunmen to their hideout via path blood stains, on getting to their hideout, they met one of them dead, while another sustained gunshot wounds. Also, the vigilantes confiscated the policemen's rifles and two other rifles and handed them over to the police.
