#JUSTICE FOR UWA: POLICE PARADE KILLERS OF UNIBEN STUDENT, UWA
The Nigeria Police, Edo Command, on Wednesday, August 26, paraded six suspects who raped Uwaila Omozuwa, a 22-year-old undergraduate of the University of Benin inside a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Benin, which led to her death.
The suspects arrested are Nelson Ogbebor, Akato Valentine, Mrs Tina Samuel, Mrs Mary Ade, Nosa Osabohien and Collins Ulegbe.
According to reports, One of the suspected killers, Collins Uligbe, from Agbor in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State, disclosed while being paraded that her landlady, Mrs Mary Ade, gave them N1 million to kill the undergraduate.
He has also disclosed that he attends the same church with Uwaila and he was asked by his landlady to wipe uwaila private parts with a handkerchief so that she can use it for ritual purposes and prosper in her business.
Recall that the Police had on June 2, arrested one suspect connected with the killing of Uwa.

Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, who also confirmed the incident in a tweet, said the arrest was made through the thumbprint of the suspect on the fire extinguisher use in attacking the victim.
The victim, Uwaila Omozuwa, on May 27, went to the church to read in anticipation for the reopening of schools that were shut to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
Unfortunately, some men broke into the church, raped her and hit her head with a fire extinguisher, leaving her in a pool of her blood.
Omozuwa, who just got admitted into the University of Benin to study Microbiology, died on Saturday, May 30, three days after her ordeal in a hospital in Benin.
The Edo State Commissioner of Police, Johnson Kokumo, while parading the suspect, said the police had intensified its professionalism towards exposing and arresting those involved in the evil act following the massive outcry generated by the public and also the interest of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.
Mr Joseph Omozuwa, father of the deceased had cried to the security agencies to help identify the killers of his daughter and also protect his family members.

Joseph Omozuwa said he had been receiving threat through his friend from an unknown caller suspected to be the killers of his daughter.
The IGP specifically ordered the transfer of the investigations into the inhuman sexual assault and death of Uwaila Omosuwa.
Kokumo said, “The matter was of great concern to the Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Adamu who sent to us here in Benin, Homicide experts to work with our policemen at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).

“What we are seeing today, is a result of the united efforts of the police to get at the root of the crime and today. I announce to you and making public through this medium that the perpetrators have been arrested.”
Kokumo asserted that the postmortem results confirmed that the said Uwaila Omozuwa was raped.
He said he had earlier assured the people of the State and Nigerians that the police would do its best to expose the perpetrators, adding that the outfit has fulfilled its promise by parading the suspects.
“I assured the good people of Edo State that we will leave no stone unturned to unravel the mystery behind this”, he said.
