MULTIPLE CASUALTIES AS ISWAP AND JAS CLASH IN LAKE CHAD

Multiple casualties were recorded following an intense clash between fighters of ISWAP and JAS loyal to the Bakoura faction in Lake Chad, Borno State.

Eons Intelligence gathered that both insurgents engaged themselves in a gun battle, leading to the death of many.

It would be recalled that on October 30, Eons Intelligence reported that the Bakoura-led Buduma fighters from Chad and Niger Republic infiltrated Lake Chad islands.

Intelligence sources disclose that the assailants, heavily armed, arrived at Loko Lybie village in Lake Chad, in about 30 canoes.

It is believed that their arrival at the Lake Chad Basin is connected with the ongoing supremacy battle between the Bakoura-led Buduma fighters and ISWAP.

Also recall that In September 2021, the two Jihadists’ factions clashed in Lake Chad, leaving scores dead.
