NIGERIAN ARMY NABS SIX SUSPECTED ROBBERS/CULTISTS IN LAGOS OPERATION
In a decisive operation, the Troops of the Nigerian Army from 9 Brigade in Lagos State successfully apprehended six individuals suspected of involvement in robbery and cult activities. The suspects, identified as Fatai Ajayi (25), Samuel Issac (26), Solomon Kamaldeen (28), Kenneth Danladi (29), Etuk Ayanime (28), and Damilola Oyerinde (36), were handed over to the Lagos State Police Command on January 12th, 2024, at approximately 15:00hrs.
The arrested individuals were found in possession of a cache of dangerous items, including sixteen firearms, which notably included a toy pistol, seventy-two live cartridges, seventy-five live ammunition, one expended cartridge, one pistol magazine, six axes, four daggers, five cutlasses, two vehicles, one POS machine, fake vehicle registration plates, and various charms.
These significant discoveries highlight the intensity of the criminal activities the suspects were allegedly involved in. The recovered arsenal poses a serious threat to public safety, emphasizing the importance of the security forces' timely intervention.
The Lagos State Police Command will lead the investigation, and all six suspects are expected to face charges in court once the inquiry is complete. The operation reflects the commitment of the Nigerian Army and law enforcement agencies to maintaining peace and security in the region.
