Troops of Sector 1 of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have arrested six suspected terrorist logistics suppliers and intercepted a large consignment of materials believed to be destined for terrorist elements during an intelligence-led operation in Borno State.

The operation was carried out at about 4:00 p.m. on 19 July, 2026, along a suspected terrorist logistics route, where troops mounted a covert stop-and-search operation based on credible intelligence. The suspects, travelling in five vehicles, were intercepted while conveying materials allegedly intended to support terrorist activities.

Items recovered include 202 cartons of herbicides, one jerrycan containing suspected acid, one Starlink wireless internet communication system, six bags of NPK fertiliser, 10 bags of rice, 50 hoes and 20 packs of knapsack sprayer pumps.

Military authorities said preliminary assessments indicate the recovered items have potential dual-use applications capable of supporting terrorist logistics, mobility, sustainment and communications. The NPK fertiliser and suspected acid will undergo further technical and forensic examination to determine whether they were intended for the fabrication of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

The six suspects and all recovered items have been handed over to the appropriate Military Intelligence Regiment for further investigation aimed at identifying the intended recipients, dismantling the wider logistics network and apprehending other collaborators and sponsors.

Operation Hadin Kai also disclosed that preliminary debriefings of rescued hostages and surrendered terrorist families indicate that sustained military operations targeting terrorist supply chains have significantly weakened the operational capabilities of terrorist groups. According to the debriefings, shortages of food, medical supplies, communication equipment and other essential logistics have forced many terrorists to abandon their hostages, families and enclaves while fleeing sustained military pressure.

The military reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling terrorist logistics and support networks through sustained intelligence-driven operations, targeting financiers, logistics suppliers, informants and collaborators to deny terrorist groups the resources needed to sustain their activities.

Residents were urged to continue providing timely and credible information on suspicious persons, movements and activities to security agencies, noting that public cooperation remains critical to the success of ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the North-East.
