The Plateau State Police Command has arrested 26 suspects for various offences, including Samuel Dang Kat and Zatshinen Wubwerwe, who were linked to the brutal attack that resulted in the death of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Safwan Adamu Fade.

Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Adesina made this known on Tuesday, stating that the attack occurred in Pankshin Local Government Area.

The late Safwan Adamu Fade, who was serving at the Federal University of Education, Pankshin, was reportedly beaten to death by hoodlums at a local township stadium.

"On January 23, 2025, at about 7:00 a.m., we received a report from one Umbule Boreng Reuben of Pankshin LGA, stating that on January 22, 2025, at around 6:00 p.m., Fade was attacked and severely beaten by unknown hoodlums at the Pankshin Township Stadium," Adesina revealed.

Upon receiving the report, police officers rushed the victim to the hospital, where he was declared stable after receiving treatment. However, he was later transferred to Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) due to complications, where he eventually passed away.

Following investigations, the police arrested Samuel Dang Kat and Zatshinen Wubwerwe in connection with the case, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing suspects.

The Commissioner of Police reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring justice for the deceased and commended residents for their cooperation in the fight against crime.

"The Plateau State Police Command has recorded significant operational successes, leading to the arrest of criminals and the recovery of arms and ammunition. Our determination to rid the state of crime remains unwavering," Adesina stated.

He also expressed appreciation to law-abiding citizens, the media, and police officers for their continued support in crime-fighting efforts across the state.
