POLICE ARREST 5 SUSPECTS OVER ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF AMMUNITION
About five persons with illegal possession of AK-47 rifles have been arrested by the operatives of the Katsina State Police Command in Kurmi village, Bakori LGA, Katsina State.
The information available indicates that the suspects were found while the operatives within the command were on credible intelligence patrol on 19th December 2023.
The suspects who hail from Kakumi village, Bakori LGA are Sharhabilu Dahiru, 20, Abubakar Tukur, 25 Kasamanu Abdullahi, 20, Abdulrahman Shu’aibu, 20, and Sulaiman Sanusi, also 20 years old.
Subsequently, the suspects upon questioning, confessed that the said firearm was stolen from the residence of one Jamilu Lawal of the same village.
However, Lawal was also invited for further investigation into the illegal possession of the AK-47 rifle.
All suspects are in police custody as the investigation proceeds.
