POLICE ARREST NOTORIOUS CULTIST LEADER, 18 OTHERS IN OGUN STATE

The notorious cultist and kingpin of the Eiye Confraternity, identified as Ogunnibi Hammed, widely known for his involvement in gruesome attacks against rival cult groups in Sagamu has been arrested alongside 18 other cult members by the operative of Ogun State Police Command.

 

The information available indicates that the targeted suspected cultists, who had been causing havoc in various areas, including Odogbolu, Sagamu, Ijebu Ode, and Ilishan were intercepted on 24th September 2023 by the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, the Anti-Cultism Unit (AKU), and the Obalende Division of Police force. 


Among those apprehended were Sodipo Azeez, also known as Bintobo, Ilori Gbenga, Lamina Yusuf, Kolawole Rasaq, Adelaja Otusanya, Adeyemi Soneye, Oseni Toheeb, ThankGod Naba, Lekan Qudus, Adelusi Omotayo, Timothy Monday, Ayomide Ishmael, Oboje Jeremiah, Ayoola Oladayo, Jacob Chidi, John Innocent, Ayangbile Victor, and Jacob Sunday.


Upon interrogation, all the suspects arrested confessed to being active members of different cult groups.


Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police has ordered an immediate investigation into the individuals apprehended while they remain in police custody.
