LAGOS STATE POLICE COMMAND ARRESTS 13 CULTISTS RESPONSIBLE FOR CAUSING MAYHEM IN MUSHIN AND IKORODU
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 13 suspected cultists allegedly responsible for causing mayhem in the Ikorodu and Mushin area of the State.
Four suspects identified as; Popoola Michael, Daniel Adome, Kayode Thomson, and Taiwo Okiki, all 18 years old, were arrested on November 8.
They are accused of being members of the Omo Kasari Confraternity, and were arrested for causing mayhem in the Mushin area of Lagos State.
Nine other suspected cultists identified as; Segun James, Agbelusi Sunday, Kareem Ishola, Opeyemi Oderinde, Olasojo Gbolahan, Ayodele Olasukanmi, and Otubu Samson and Kayode Agoro who are members of the Aiye confraternity were arrested 24 hours later. They were involved in threatening the peace and security of residents in Ikorodu.
In a statement by the State’s Police PRO, Muyiwa Adejobi, he said the Lagos State Police Command will not tolerate the activities of cultists and hoodlums threatening the peace and security of Lagosians.
Items recovered from the suspects include; locally made guns, live cartridges, axes, cutlasses, charms and some other offensive weapons.
Adejobi said the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has finalized plans with the Lagos State Ministry of Justice to ensure speedy trials of the suspects as part of the command's Operation ‘Say No To Cultism’ campaign.
He urged all residents to support the Command’s fight to maintain peace and order in the State.
