POLICE ARREST THREE SUSPECTS FOR KIDNAPPING IN ADAMAWA
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three suspects for kidnapping in the State.
In a statement by the State’s Police PRO, Suleiman Nguroje, three victims were also rescued by security operatives in an operation on Sunday December 19.
The kidnappers were arrested following credible intelligence that they were unleashing mayhem on residents in Pakka hills, Maiha LGA of Adamawa.
Police engaged them in a gun battle and subsequently arrested three of them while one of the criminals was killed,
The arrested suspects are; Muhammed Umaru, 37 years old; a resident of Pakka Village, Hamidu Idrisu, 30 years old; and a resident of Macimi village in Maiha local government area, as well as Haruna Musa, 42 years old, and a resident of Macimi village.
The rescued victims are identified as; Hamidu Musa, 20 years old and a resident of Pella village in Hong Local Government Area; and Buba Sale, 18 years old and a resident of Pella village.
The statement reads; “The Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Ahmed Barde, immediately deployed the command’s operatives attached to Maiha Division in sustained collaboration with military, other sister security agencies and some hunters to the area.
“The joint operation led to the rescue of three victims: Hadiza Abubakar, a 35-year-old woman and resident of Kuna village in Maiha,” the Police stated.
“The suspects, while on interrogation, confessed to having kidnapped the victims from their various addresses and were negotiating for ransom.’’
