Police Arrest Two More Suspects in Mrs. Odumosu’s Kidnap Case, Recover N2.25m and Firearms

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police Special Squad has apprehended two additional suspects linked to the kidnapping of Mrs. Odumosu, wife of Retired Assistant-Inspector General of Police, AIG Hakeem Odumosu. The arrests follow a directive from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to track down the fleeing perpetrators.

The suspects, identified as 27-year-old Agbojule Smart and 30-year-old Keleke Michael, were arrested in the early hours of Friday while attempting to leave Lagos State. Upon interrogation, they reportedly confessed to being members of a four-man gang responsible for the abduction, noting that two of their accomplices had previously been neutralized by security operatives.


Recovered from the suspects were N2.25 million, part of the ransom paid for Mrs. Odumosu's release, along with two locally fabricated rifles and 11 live cartridges.

Commending the operatives for their efforts, IGP Egbetokun praised their dedication and urged them to sustain the momentum in combating criminal activities nationwide. The Nigeria Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring public safety and reducing crime to the barest minimum while fostering peace and security across the country.


The police authorities have assured citizens that they will continue to intensify efforts to apprehend criminals and ensure justice prevails.
