POLICE ARRESTS OFFICERS IN VIRAL VIDEO HARASSING AND DEHUMANIZING A WOMAN IN IBADAN
The Nigeria Police says it has arrested 2 of its officers involved in a dehumanizing treatment of a young woman as seen in a viral video.
A video emerged online of a police officer questioning a young woman caught in the company of a suspected criminal in Ibadan.
In the video, a policeman could be heard asking who disflowered her and why she left her first boyfriend.
Following public outcry over the unprofessional and predatory actions of the policeman, the Force on Thursday, July 23 identified the arrested officers as ASP Tijani Olatunji and Inspector Gboyega Oyeniyi.
They are presently being detained at the Lagos State CID detention facility, Panti, Yaba for their role in the unprofessional conduct.
The police added that two more persons-a policeman and a civilian in connection with the incident would also be apprehended soon.
