The Nigeria Police Force has recorded a series of operational successes across several states, including the foiling of a bandit attack, rescue of seven victims, arrests of suspected criminals, recovery of firearms and stolen property, and investigations into murder and other offences.

In Benue State, police operatives supported by joint tactical forces responded to an armed bandit attack at Abeda Market in Logo LGA on September 22. One suspected bandit was neutralised while two others were arrested. No casualty was recorded on the police side. The SCID, Makurdi, is investigating.

In Katsina State, police operatives on September 21 foiled a bandit attack along the Kankara–Dutsin-Ma Road after armed men intercepted a vehicle carrying six female students of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma. The attackers were engaged and forced to flee into the bush with gunshot injuries. All seven occupants of the vehicle were rescued unharmed, medically evaluated and reunited with the relevant authorities.

Also in Katsina, police arrested three suspects allegedly linked to an armed bandit syndicate after an attempted escape was foiled. The SCID, Katsina, is investigating both cases.

In Anambra State, police operatives working with local vigilantes arrested four suspected members of an outlawed terrorist group during patrols in Okija Community on September 22. The suspects reportedly confessed to belonging to the group and provided information on its activities, while efforts have been intensified to apprehend other fleeing members.

In a separate operation in Anambra, detectives arrested three suspects over the death of a 34-year-old man at Ojoto, Idemili South LGA. The victim’s remains were recovered and deposited at a morgue for autopsy.

In Nasarawa State, police took custody of a suspected kidnapper following a citizens’ arrest on September 21. The suspect reportedly confessed to involvement in several kidnapping incidents and is assisting investigators.

In Delta State, police re-arrested a suspect allegedly found with an illegal firearm. One locally fabricated cut-to-size gun and a live cartridge were recovered.

In Cross River State, detectives tracked and arrested a principal suspect allegedly linked to the suspected murder of a 22-year-old woman.

In Oyo State, police detectives arrested a suspect in connection with the death of a 30-year-old man at Iwere-Ile.

In Ogun State, detectives arrested a suspect in connection with an alleged defilement case. The victim was taken to a medical facility for examination.

In Ekiti State, police arrested four suspected cult members allegedly linked to an attack and malicious damage of property in Ikere-Ekiti. The suspects reportedly confessed to belonging to a cult group.

In Kogi State, police operatives responded to an armed robbery incident and recovered a stolen motorcycle during a bush-combing operation.

In Lagos State, Police Motor Traffic personnel responded to a fatal road traffic incident at Tin Can Island, where victims were evacuated and the truck driver was arrested. The vehicle involved was also impounded for inspection and further investigation.

The police said the various cases remain under investigation, with efforts ongoing to identify other suspects and prosecute those found culpable.
