POLICE FOIL THEFT PLOT INVOLVING ADSEMA STAFF AND VIGILANTE MEMBERS

On 12/7/2024, Command Operatives attached to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Jimeta, in a sustained effort, foiled an organized crime involving the vandalizing and stealing from a government/public warehouse by some dishonest staff of the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA).


The success of these efforts follows reliable information received about the organized crime, which was coordinated to cause wrongful gain by dishonestly stealing from the warehouse and blaming hoodlums.


Upon receiving the information, the command designed a security ring around the warehouse situated at Limawa Ward, Yola North local government area, and fortunately arrested eight suspects, including staff of the agency and some vigilante members.


The eight suspects are Abubakar Dahiru, 22, a vigilante member; Mustapha Suleiman, 30, a vigilante member; Muhammed Umar Misa, 53, a staff member of ADSEMA; Fatsuma Sule, 40, a resident of Limawa Ward, Yola North; Fatima Mohammed, 49, a resident of Limawa Ward, Yola North; Hussena Adamu, 24, a resident of Limawa Ward, Yola North; Emmanuel Anthony, 32, a resident of Limawa Ward; and Azumi Anthony, 50, a resident of Limawa Ward, Yola North local government area. They were arrested a few hours after they implemented the organized crime.


Interestingly, investigations conducted so far have led to the recovery of 98 bags of maize, millet, and guinea corn, among other items.
