SECURITY OPERATIVES ARRESTS 20 BOKO HARAM SUSPECTS

Over 20 suspected Boko Haram Insurgents have been arrested by security officials in Maiduguri.

Borno State.

The suspects were arrested at night on Wednesday, September 23, in Gwange and Muna regions of Maiduguri following intelligence reports and investigations.

Their arrest comes few days after the death of Col. D.C Bako, the commander of 25 Task Force Brigade of Operation Lafiya Dole who was killed by the terrorists in Damboa, Borno state.

On Thursday, September 24, troops of Operation Lafiya Dole killed several top Boko Haram leaders at the Lake Chad Basin in Borno.

Some of the Boko Haram leaders killed include Abu Usman, Alhaji Shettima, Modu Mainok, Bukar Gana, Abu Summayya, Amir Taam and Amir Kuraish.

Boko Haram insurgents who have waged a decade old war against Nigeria and its citizens have been weakened by the continuous bombardments of the country's Armed forces.

However, the Insurgents still carry out desperate and impromptu attacks on defenceless communities where they steal food, cattle, and supplies for survival, as well as kidnap for ransom.

On Sunday, September 22, the Boko Haram Insurgents attacked unsuspecting commuters on Monguno highway.

The Insurgents ambushed their victims by mounting roadblocks on the road leading to Maiduguri in Monguno local government area.
