TENSION AS THREE DIE IN FULANI HERDSMEN ATTACK ON BAUCHI COMMUNITY

Three persons have been confirmed dead after assailants believed to be Fulani herdsmen attacked a border settlement along Darazo in Misau Local Government Area of Bauchi State late on Saturday, December 12.


Sources say two farmers, a father and his son, were attacked and the former killed when the assailants described as Udawa stock of the Fulani ethnic group attacked them.


Report indicates that two of the assailants lost their lives when local security personnel from the community responded to the attack.

The son of the farmer is said to have survived the attack and is currently receiving treatment at Misau General Hospital, Bauchi.


Police operatives in the community are on alert as the incident has heightened tension across the area.


This attack is the latest in the series of such deadly incidents attributed to this group in Bauchi State. On June 29, it was reported that the same group attacked and killed about ten persons in the area.
