NAF AIRSTRIKES KILL SCORES OF BOKO HARAM, DESTROY LOGISTICS STORES
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has killed several Boko Haram insurgents at the South Region in the heart of the Sambisa forest in Borno State.
The air strike was conducted by the Air Task Force of Operation LAFIYA DOLE on Monday, December 28.
The Operation, which was executed employing a force package of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets, was carried out after series of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions revealed that the terrorists responsible for recent attacks in the Southern part of Borno and Northern part of Adamawa State had originated from the location.
Accordingly, the NAF deployed its fighter jets to the target area, leading to the killing of several assailants, destruction of some of their structures and logistics stores, including a suspected anti-aircraft gun station.

The Sambisa forest is known to be used by the Boko Haram Insurgents as logistics base as well as staging area to launch attacks.
Recall, following the recent brutal massacre of about 43 farmers in Borno State, Governor Babagana Zulum has asked the Federal Government to engage mercenaries to clear the Sambisa Forest.
According to the Borno State Governor, engaging mercenaries as well as the immediate recruitment of youths into the military to boost its strength will go a long way to defeat the insurgents.
Recently, the Nigerian military has continued to deal decisive blows on insurgents, bandits and other criminal elements in the North Eastern part of Nigeria, especially Borno State.

Men of Nigerian Army on December 8 killed five Boko Haram terrorists in an operation in Borno State.
29 Rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, 39 Rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition, 2 Motorcycles, Motorcycle repair tools and one Tecno phone were also recovered from the assailants.
Similarly, on November 14, the NAF airstrikes killed several Boko Haram Insurgents in Sambisa forest area of Borno State.
The operation was carried through multiple air strikes at Gabora and Sambisa South areas in the vicinity of the forest.
