THREE FAKE EFCC OPERATIVES ARRESTED DURING ILLEGAL OPERATION IN LAGOS
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested three impostors during an illegal operation in Lagos.
The fraudsters were arrested at New Horizon Estate, Lekki, Lagos State in the middle of their illegal operation to ‘serve’ a Court Order purported to have emanated from the Mushin Magistrate Court on an unsuspecting victim.
In a statement by Ahmed Gali, Head of the EFCC Zonal Office in Lagos, the three-man syndicate; Pascal Ugwu Chijoke, Sodiq Ibrahim Adekunle and Edwin Bassey, invaded the residence of their target, wearing fake EFCC branded jackets and ID cards.
Ahmed Gali, who urged Nigerians to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the Commission, warned them to be wary of fake EFCC operatives using the good name of the Commission to extort Nigerians.
"We will always be ahead of these fraudsters. If they fail to desist, they will face the music," he said.
