TROOPS OF OPERATION HADARIN DAJI NEUTRALIZE 10 TERRORISTS, RESCUE 9 KIDNAP VICTIMS IN KATSINA AND ZAMFARA STATES
The troops of Joint Task Force North West Operation HADARIN DAJI (OPHD) have neutralized 10 terrorists, rescued 9 kidnap victims, and recovered arms and ammunition, including operational motorcycles and communication gadgets. This achievement was part of recent dry season clearance operations led by Major General Godwin Mutkut, the General Officer Commanding 8 Division Nigerian Army.
On January 3, 2024, the combined OPHD troops executed an offensive operation in identified terrorist enclaves at Batsari and Safana LGAs of Katsina state, neutralizing 10 terrorists, with others fleeing with gunshot wounds. The troops also recovered 1 AK-47 Rifle, ammunition, 7 Dane guns, 3 locally fabricated guns, and other dangerous weapons, along with communication gadgets, mobile phones, and military uniforms. Additionally, 4 motorcycles were recovered and destroyed insitu.
On the same day, OPHD troops in Zamfara state conducted a search and rescue operation at Dansadau and Dandalla villages in Maru LGA, rescuing 9 kidnapped victims, including 5 women and 4 babies. The terrorists abandoned the victims after a gun duel with the resilient troops. The rescued victims were promptly reunited with their families at Magami.
Major General Godwin Mutkut, the Commander Joint Task Force North West Operation HADARIN DAJI, commended the troops' efforts and urged them to maintain the tempo.
