UNKNOWN GUNMEN ATTACK CHECKPOINT IN ANAMBRA, KILL 3 POLICEMEN ON DUTY

No fewer than three policemen were killed on Thursday 4th May 2023 following an attack launched by unknown gunmen against joint security checkpoints at Umunze, Orumba South LGA, Anambra State.

 

The information available indicates that the gunmen invaded the location in large numbers and simultaneously opened fire on the officers manning the checkpoint. 

 

The shooting rained for over an hour, causing pandemonium as residents ran for their lives. 


Amid the attack, shop owners in the area hastily locked their shops as other people stayed indoors for fear of another attack. 


Meanwhile, the reinforcements teams are already in the area and the manhunt for the assailants is ongoing while joint security patrols have been intensified in the area.
