JOURNALISTS LOSE THEIR JOBS AS MICROSOFT OPTS TO CURATE NEWS USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Journalists working for MSN would not get their contract renewed as Microsoft has opted to curate news using Artificial Intelligence.

Microsoft pays other news agencies to use their content while a team of journalists decide how and when the materials are shared.

However, Artificial Intelligence will now perform these tasks.

The tech giant's decision is not because of the economic hardship caused by the Coronavirus.

According to the Guardian, a Microsoft spokesperson said "like all companies, we evaluate our business on a regular basis. This can result in increased investment in some places and, from time to time."
