PANIC AS A 4.0 EARTHQUAKE OCCURRED IN GHANA

A light 4.0 magnitude earthquake hit the central region of Greater Accra and environs on Wednesday, June 24. 


The depth hit at about 10.0 km, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).


Residents living in Accra and its environments said they were frightened as they experienced three tremors within the space of 10 minutes. 


“Thought it was thunder, especially after some very strong thunder over the weekend that caused some shaking and caused car alarms to go off. Found it strange there was no rain, especially with multiple strong thunders that I could feel. found out after it was tremors,” a resident said.
