22 SUSPECTED THUG'S ARRESTED IN NIGER STATE


The Niger State Police Command has arrested 22 suspected thugs in its continued bid to curtail acts of thuggery, youth restiveness, and other crime and criminality in Minna, the state capital on 21 June 2022.


Available report indicates that the suspects were arrested during a raid in their hideout.


The state Police Public Relations Officer, PRO, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, in a statement disclosed that the thugs were arrested through a combined team of police operatives mobilized from the Department of Operations, Bosso and Minna Area Commands.


According to him, the effort was another round of raids on criminal hideouts within the metropolis which include Angwan-Daji, Angwan-Kanawa, Limawa, Maitumbi, Barkin-Sale and Makera area of Bosso and Chanchaga of the state.



The suspects arrested include Umaru Ibrahim aged 20yrs, Abba Adamu aged 29yrs, Nuhu Alhassan aged 20yrs, Abubakar Ahmed aged 21yrs, Abubakar Mohammed aged 16yrs, Lukman Isah aged 21yrs, Danjuma Musa aged 36yrs, Philimon Ishaku aged 17yrs, Aminu Hassan aged 20yrs, ThankGod Sunday aged 19yrs, Ayuba Timothy aged 18yrs, Danjuma Musa Haruna aged 18yrs, Abdulkarim Mohammed aged 17yrs and Kabiru Usman aged 23yrs.

Exhibits confiscated from the suspects include seven cutlasses, eight wraps of suspected cannabis, one pair of scissors, two knives, sticks, and a bottle containing illicit substances.




Others are Usman Isah aged 19yrs, Musa Yusuf aged 21yrs, Kabiru Yahaya aged 18yrs, Masa’udu Yunusa aged 16yrs, Inyas Musa aged 21yrs, Nasiru Abdullahi aged 21yrs, Musa Suleiman aged 21yrs and Jabir Suleiman aged 18yrs.


He reiterated the commitment of the command to explore the administration of the criminal justice system and partner with the judiciary towards a diligent prosecution of the suspects arrested with reference to previous criminal records of each suspect.
