ANAMBRA POLICE ARREST TEENAGERS OVER CULTISM AND ROBBERY
About seven suspected cult members including five teenagers who chose cultism and robbery as a hobby have been arrested by the operatives of Anambra State Police Command along UNIZIK junction, Anambra State.
The information available indicates that five suspects on 3rd May 2024 were intercepted by the Special Anti-Cult Squad in a tricycle. The operatives found a suspicious look about them and tried to question them, immediately four out the five suspects took to their heels and escaped while one Chukwuemeka Ozoekwe was arrested.
Upon interrogation the arrested suspect, he led the operatives to their hideout where Chidozie Anagor, 18-year-old and Chukwuemeka Oyeoka, 18-year-old were arrested. The security operatives intensified their raid at criminals' harbour which resulted in arresting Ebuka Okoye, 17, Olisa Obi, 19, Chidubem Nwakwu, 20, and Nwankwo Kosisochukwu.
During interrogation, the suspects confess that they members of Vipers Cult Group who have been terrorising Akwa metropolis recently, and were on a robbery mission to dispossess the road users of their phones and personal belongings before they were arrested.
Meanwhile, the police have declared Makuo Nwosu wanted and a yet-to-be-identified criminal who fled the scene of interception.
