AUTO-CRASH KILLS 13 IN PASSENGER BUS HEADING TO LAGOS
At least thirteen persons have been confirmed dead in an accident in Niger State, involving a trailer and an 18-seater bus that was heading to Lagos.
The auto-crash occurred on Tuesday, January 13, 2021 at Panti village along Bida-Mokwa road in Lavun Local Government Area of Niger State.
The Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Niger State command, Joel Dagwa confirmed the incident on Tuesday.
He said men of the command located at the Kutigi Unit Command carried out evacuation operations in the early hours of today.

The FRSC Commander stated that the 18-seater bus was traveling from the north to Lagos State.
He added that the bodies of those killed have been deposited at the Kutigi General Hospital, while those injured have been taken to the Federal Medical Centre Bida and Kutigi General Hospital for medical treatment.
The FRSC head however stated that some of the injured victims were in critical condition and still unconscious.
As at the time of filing this report, effort was ongoing to get details of the passengers and where they were traveling to.

Just two days to Christmas, on December 23, 2020, a lone accident involving a trailer carrying 36 passengers claimed the lives of three persons while 33 others sustained various degrees of injuries on Gwachipe Bridge, Lambatta in Gurara Local Government Area of Niger State.
The trailer which was traveling from Kano to Lagos via Niger crashed as a result of over speeding, causing the driver to loss control.
