AVIATION WORKERS TO BEGIN 2-DAY WARNING STRIKE ON MONDAY

The Aviation workers’ unions is set to embark on a two-day nationwide warning strike from Monday 17th April through 18th April 2023. 


The information available indicates that the honourable minister of aviation and specific aviation parastatals have allegedly failed to implement the conditions of the service agreement between the union and some aviation agencies.

Although, the unions on 7th February 2023 issued a 14-day ultimatum letter over the non-implementation of minimum wage consequential adjustments and arrears for the Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NiMet), the refusal of the Income & Wages Commission and Office of the Head of Service of the federation to release the reviewed condition of service of Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) and Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET).


Meanwhile, the unions have also threatened to embark on an indefinite strike after the two-day warning strike, peradventure their demands were not met.
