FG EXTENDS NIN-SIM LINKAGE DEADLINE
The Federal Government has extended the linkage of the National Identity Number (NIN) to Subscriber Identity Modules (SIM) by eight weeks.
The new deadline for linkage is April 6, 2021.
Recall that the FG government had said the deadline for the excercise is February 9, but was reviewed following calls for more time by subscribers and stakeholders.
Ikechukwu Adinde, Director of Public Affairs, Nigerian Communications Commission, who disclosed the new deadline on Tuesday, 2nd February 2021 said the extension was conveyed by Isa Pantami, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy.
Pantami conveyed the message during the meeting of the Ministerial Taskforce on NIN-SIM registration which held on the 1st of February, 2021.
