BREAKING: LAGOS HOSPITAL TAKES DELIVERY OF A COVID-19 PATIENT WHO GAVE BIRTH TO A SET OF TWINS
A 22-year-old COVID-19 patient receiving treatment at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba has been delivered of a set of twins, today Tuesday, May 19.
Professor Wasiu Adeyemo, LUTH Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee disclosed this in a tweet on Tuesday, May 19.
He said the team of LUTH doctors anaesthetics and nurses took delivery of the fourth Coronavirus patient who gave birth to twins.
Adeyemo said the mother and babies are doing well.
The Lagos State Hospital has recorded a series of successful births of babies whose mothers were COVID-19 patients. This births is the fourth delivery made by the hospital.
A 33-year-old COVID-19 patient gave birth at LUTH on May 15 also a 37-year-old COVID-19 patient gave birth on May 9.
He commended efforts of the frontline staff for the successful delivery.
He also appreciated the the Federal Government, the Lagos State Government and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) for their support in the fight against COVID-19.
