BREAKING: PRESIDENT BUHARI PLANS OVERHAUL OF NIGERIA’S SECURITY LEADERS
President Buhari is planning a complete overhaul of the nation’s security leaders following his dissatisfaction with the worsening insecurity in the country.
The National Security Adviser (NSA), Major General Babagana Monguno, disclosed this while briefing State House correspondents on the outcome of the meeting of the National Security Council presided over by the President on Tuesday in Abuja.
Monguno revealed that the president is not happy with the nation’s security chiefs because they have not been good enough in recent months.,
Monguno said that since the issues involved are operational issues, the Minister of Defence, Bashir Magashi, is working on something likely to give a new direction to the security agencies.
Recall that in recent weeks, the level of insecurity and violence in Northern Nigeria has risen beyond measures as over 200 lives has been lost due to attacks from Boko Haram insurgents and Fulani Herdsmen.
