Commander 6 Brigade Commends Troops, Urges Sustained Momentum Against Banditry in Taraba
The Commander of 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, has commended the troops for their dedication and bravery in the ongoing Operation LAFIYAN JAMAA aimed at tackling banditry in Taraba State.
The operation, which spans all 16 local government areas of Taraba State, is designed to dismantle criminal networks infiltrating the state from neighboring regions. It also seeks to restore peace and security, ensuring that residents can carry out farming activities without fear during both dry and rainy seasons.
Speaking today at Andami in Karim Lamido LGA after a successful clearance operation, General Uwa praised the troops for their resilience. The recent mission targeted multiple bandit hideouts in Komodoro, Ginarunbu, Chibi, Chikum, Bitriklin, Mashigi Kirya, Jamaga, and Wagal villages, resulting in the discovery and destruction of several abandoned bandit camps.
Addressing the troops, General Uwa urged them to maintain their momentum in the fight against banditry, kidnapping, and other security threats. “The successes recorded so far are a testament to your dedication and professionalism. However, we must not relent. We must remain vigilant, decisive, and proactive in ensuring that Taraba State remains unsafe for criminals,” he stated.
The Nigerian Army remains committed to restoring peace and stability in Taraba and beyond, working tirelessly to safeguard lives and property. The public is encouraged to support security agencies by providing credible information that will aid ongoing operations.
