CULTISTS ON RAMPAGE AT IJORA BADIA, TEN KILLED
No less than ten persons suspected to be members of criminal cult groups have been gunned down by rival gangs at different in Ijora Badia.
In moves suspected to be reprisal attacks, the suspected cultists are seen moving about in a bid to fish out members of opposing camps.
At about 1pm Tuesday, a suspected cultist simply identified as Seyi, an alleged member of Eiye confraternity was gunned down at Ijora, right under the bridge, near the Lilipond truck terminal.
The onfoing crisis caused serious breakdown of law and order as well as traffic congestion in neighbouring areas as traders and residents were seen scampering ro safety.
Although the victim was still breathing at the time of filing this report while he was rushed to a hospital in Apapa by the police and other sympathisers, possibility of surviving the shot which touched him directly on his face is doubtful.
There is palpable fear on the possibility of a reprisal attack by rival cult group, Aiye Confraternity. Some residents are already deserting the area until peace is restored.
Although normalcy has been restored in the area, it is advised that the workers close in good time to avoid being endangered or caught in a potential crossfire between the warring cult factions or security agencies.
