DSS ALERTS OGUN STATE POLICE COMMAND OF IMMINENT ESCALATION OF PROTESTS IN THE STATE
The Department of State Services (DSS) has alerted the Ogun State Police Command of the imminent escalation of protests in the State.
The DSS gave this notification in a letter addressed to the Command, dated October 15, 2020, and signed by the State’s Director of Security, D.D. Tuksa.
The security agency said there are indications that the ongoing #ENDSARS protests will spring up in the State from Friday, October 16, as foot soldiers have commenced mobilization of youths.
It also revealed that youths in border communities like Idirioko, Owode, Oja-Odan, and Ilara in Imeko-Afon Local Government are being mobilized by smugglers to stage a protest anytime soon against the continued closure of Nigeria’s borders, and the activities of security agencies like the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).

In the same vein, the DSS, in the letter addressed to the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Edward Ajogun, disclosed that residents of Abeokuta, Ifo, Ota, Sagamu, and major towns in Ijebu are planning to protest against the bad and deplorable condition of roads in the State.
The DSS noted that this proposed protests are a threat to national security, and admonished the Police command to intensify security measures.
It urged all security personnel at border points to be extra cautious and vigilant against possible attacks by aggrieved youths in these areas.
