Police Foil Explosion Attempt, Recover Projectiles in Maiduguri
The Borno State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Yusufu Mohammed Lawal, successfully averted a potential explosion on January 2, 2025, by recovering three projectiles in the Dala Kafanti area.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:25 a.m. when a local resident discovered a suspicious sack behind her house and promptly alerted the authorities. Responding swiftly, the Command's Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD-CBRN) unit secured the area and safely retrieved the items.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the projectiles were abandoned by unidentified individuals earlier that morning. To ensure public safety, the police also conducted an awareness campaign in the community, educating residents on Explosive Ordnance Risk Awareness (EORE) and safety measures.
The Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property while urging citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
