DSS WARNS AGAINST PLANS TO INCITE RELIGIOUS VIOLENCE ACROSS THE COUNTRY
The Department of State Services (DSS) has warned against plans by persons to incite religious violence across the country.
This comes after some elements working with external forces are planning to stir up religious violence in Sokoto, Kano, Kaduna, Plateau, Rivers, Oyo, Lagos and States in the South-East region.
In a statement by Peter Afunaya, the DSS PRO, the plan is to cause inter-religious conflicts and attack some worship centres, religious leaders, personalities, key and vulnerable points.
He warned Nigerians to be on alert and steer clear of all antics aimed at causing inter-religious conflicts.
The DSS vows to partner with other security agencies in ensuring peace and order in the country. It also warned those planning these plots to desist from such in the interest of peace, security and development of the country.
Nigerians are admonished to report any suspicious acts that could violate the country's peace to the nearest security agencies around them.
